When Jesus left planet earth, he gave his disciples a clear mission: go into all the world make disciples of every nation (Matthew 28:18-20). But first he told them to wait in Jerusalem until they had received the promise from the Father (Acts 1:4): he told them that they would receive power from the Holy Spirit to be his witnesses.
The story of CBU is very much like that of the disciples: the first part of our history was marked by Spirit-empowered Bible teaching. But like the disciples, Jesus equips us and empowers on purpose - to go to the nations with the gospel.
Beginning with a small outreach to Guatemala in 1989, CBU remains actively engaged with international gospel ministry. Our current focus is Europe, where through a remarkable series of events in the early 1990's we helped plant churches that continue to grow and thrive and plant more churches. We have since planted churches in Scotland and are actively engaged with training pastors and leaders across Europe.
We are currently involved in three core projects focused on Europe:
- Project 215: A curriculum development project to train European cross-cultural missionaries
- Project 224: One week intensive training bootcamps for pastors, leaders and missionaries already involved in ministry
- The 2020 Vision: our legacy project to touch Europe with the gospel by establishing a permanent training centre.
You can participate in gospel advance in Europe by becoming a CBU Global Partner.
